Works well! makes a huge mess. June 7, 2007 nobaboon (Chicago, IL United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Comb works way better than the brush I was previously using, but doesn't hold much hair, so a large percentage of what it pulls off the cat (short haired, even!) goes flying around. Required followup: a vacuuming of surrounding area. (I wish the cat would let me vacuum him.)
That said, it got a freakish amount of hair off this guy, to the point I became worried. (cats says it is no problem, though.)
loose fur is gone! June 4, 2007 Anna Schreiner 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
this comb kicks bum. it takes off tons of hair on my cat. the only problem is he likes to chew on it while i'm trying to comb him :) it's a very neat product.
Works great! May 29, 2007 Debbie B. (Worcester, MA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This comb takes a lot of loose fur off of my cat's coat. He loves it!
not bad, but... May 17, 2008 S. Wong (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
if given a choice, I think I would go with the furminator. my brother had one and used it on my cat, and it took mounds and mounds of hair off, whilst the bamboo comb, although taking a good amount, does not perform as well. I think the combs themselves are very similar--perhaps it's the angle at which the furminator sets the comb with respect to the handle that makes the difference?
I thought the price would make up for that difference, but I think in the end, I would rather have invested in the furminator....
Love It April 19, 2009 Alexis (PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this because I didn't want to spend $30 on the FURminator.
My cats love it and it really gets a lot of their fur and undercoat out. I have a boy cat who hated being brushed and would claw at me when I tried. And now since I bought the comb he loves the experience. He even welcomes being combed when he sees me grabbing it from the drawer.
I have seen a difference in their shedding when you pet them, less fur but as long as cats have fur they will always shed no matter what kind of brush or comb you use.
When I purchased this comb it was on clearance and now I know why - Bamboo has changed their combs to look like the FURminator combs and when I recommended the Bamboo comb to friends and family they had a lot of trouble finding what I told them to look for. I've had to order it off of websites for friends/family since it's not available in stores anymore. Ordering this style comb online will be your best bet.
